Senior Buyer
OTTO’s opportunity:

Our Senior Buyer is responsible for all purchasing of material, equipment, and supplies.

Specifically, the Senior Buyer will:

Be a member of major project teams
Obtain quotations, prepare and place purchase orders in a group or groups of commodities, material, supplies and equipment
Customer liaison for Defective Material Reporting
Conduct Vendor Audits and provide constructive feedback
Responsible for managing vendor base
Determine proper sources of supply for most economical purchases
Locate new sources of supplies as necessary
Support Engineering in the development of new products and/or new vendors
Expedite deliveries as necessary to meet production schedules
Maintain or improve purchase costs relative to the established standards
Recommend policies and procedures for purchasing functions
Maintain vendor information in the database
Familiar with MRP Purchasing
Control of inventory levels for assigned commodities
Negotiate major contracts
Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) as needed – including developing and processing Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and assisting in part analysis
Assist with other related duties as required or assigned
What you’ll need to bring to the table:

Minimum 5 years’ related experience required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Availability for nonstandard or extended work schedule
Strong oral and written communication skills
Working knowledge of personal computers
Exceptional organizational skills
Requires having the technical ability to learn quickly, and being capable of applying this knowledge towards new engineering concepts
Background in project management
Requires self-motivation and ability to complete objectives
Pleasant and helpful telephone manner
Detail oriented
General knowledge of ISO 9000
C.P.M. Preferred
What OTTO offers for this specific position:

The hiring range listed in this posting is what we, in good faith, anticipate relying on when confirming a base salary for this position; exceptions may be considered for highly experienced candidates with multiple years of at-level experience.

Target base salary hiring range: $75,000 to $90,000, based on qualifications and experience.
Profit Sharing Bonus – OTTO believes that it’s fair to share the profits that the employees help to make; profit sharing is distributed to employees twice a year. OTTO’s profit sharing plan is paid at the discretion of the company and is not a guaranteed bonus or any part of a compensation plan.
Vacation: 120 hours – vacation time is earned on the anniversary date.
