Job Description and Responsibilities
At EVRAZ, quality is second only to safety, and we are looking for an experienced and dynamic Shift Supervisor to join our team at the Edmonton facility. If you’re a natural leader with a proven track record in production management, this is your chance to take on a challenging and rewarding role where you can truly make an impact.
Drive Productivity & Quality: Optimize operations to increase Yield and First Pass Yield, meeting daily production targets and ensuring conformance with the monthly shipping plan.
Safety Leadership: Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and quality programs; lead monthly safety meetings and maintain a safe work environment.
Employee Engagement: Work with operators and stakeholders to solve production issues, foster continuous improvement, and eliminate waste.
Training & Development: Provide or arrange necessary training for employees to ensure they meet job standards and promote skill development.
Operational Oversight: Plan, align, and direct daily production activities to meet or exceed requirements while minimizing costs.
Mechanical & Electrical Reporting: Report any mechanical or electrical concerns immediately and contribute to failure analysis and troubleshooting.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
Promote Continuous Improvement: Engage employees in initiatives to optimize processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce waste.
Requirements
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a combination of education and equivalent experience
Minimum two years’ industrial operations experience, experience in operating steel/pipe facilities preferred
Demonstrated business operations and process improvement experience
Able to work 24/7 shift schedule (night/days)
Understanding and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
Familiarity with occupational health and safety (OH&S) regulations and safety standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven ability to motivate team
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
