As a health and safety specialist, you will implement, manage and support the Best Buy health and safety management system at the western distribution centre & Geek Squad City (service depot). You will play a key role in driving continual improvement within the OHS function.
Please note: This is an on-site position, with some local travel across the lower mainland.

What you’ll do:
Identify, monitor, evaluate and track all OHS activities through audits and record keeping methods
Deliver appropriate training to reduce hazards and the potential for accidents in the workplace
Lead the full investigation on major accidents and incidents
Lead the continuous improvement process to ensure OHS compliance
Utilize technical knowledge to identify and address workplace risks and hazards
Work with the senior manager to ensure that training programs are complaint to the provincial OHS regulations
Provide OHS knowledge, expertise and guidance to employees and key stakeholders
Be the key company representative with Labor and Health authorities for all OHS related activities
Lead all activities related to the organization’s participation in provincial certification/rebate programs e.g., BC COR, ON HSEP
Provide occasional support to retail stores in the Lower Mainland
What we’re looking for:
3+ years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources or a related role (retail and/or warehousing experience is an asset)
Post-secondary education in a relevant field (Occupational Health & Safety, Human Resources, General sciences) is preferred

Annualized base pay range
$65,000.00 – $68,000.00
