OTTO’s opportunity:
Our Toolroom Machinist is responsible for setting up machinery in a short run environment.
Specifically, the Toolroom Machinist will:
Keep a clean and organized work area
Thorough understanding of how to clean and count parts
Basic understanding of the operation of machines
Responsibility for inspecting product on an independent basis per OTTO’s inspection procedures
Ability to make wear off-sets
Knowledge of entering geometric off-sets, with ability to “touch-off’ tools in machine
Capable of sharpening drills, endmills and boring tools
Assist operator in training
Guide machine operators to maintain production flow
Basic understanding of speeds and feeds
Basic understanding of the methods and layout in which the tools are set-up and run
Capable of engineering machine to run parts to print
Complete math aptitude through trigonometry
Complete understanding of how to read a blueprint
Capable of using CAD CAM system to generate programs and accomplish 3D machining
Assist in the design of piece parts for manufacturability
Assist in supervising when machine shop supervisor is absent
Assist with other related duties as required or assigned
What you’ll need to bring to the table:
Consistent attendance
Attention to neat appearance
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years related job experience
Availability for nonstandard or extended work schedule
Good communication and organizational skills
Reach heights that may require a stepladder
Lift equipment up to 50 lbs. with assistance as necessary
Must be able to work in a quick paced environment
Ability to use various inspection gauges
What OTTO offers for this specific position:
The hiring range listed in this posting is what we, in good faith, anticipate relying on when confirming an hourly rate for this position; exceptions may be considered for highly experienced candidates with multiple years of at-level experience.
Target hourly hiring range: $24.00 to $31.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
Profit Sharing Bonus – OTTO believes that it’s fair to share the profits that the employees help to make; profit sharing is distributed to employees twice a year. OTTO’s profit sharing plan is paid at the discretion of the company and is not a guaranteed bonus or any part of a compensation plan.
Vacation: five days after 30 days of employment and 80 hours at 1 year – vacation time is earned on the anniversary date.
